Sephiria Combo Effects Guide
1.0's combo panel turns scattered loot into a named strategy — stop rainbow-building and pick a lane.
Combos are the language of 1.0 builds
Combo Effects tell you whether your inventory grid is a plan or a junk drawer. In Sephiria 1.0, artifacts and tablets feed a combo panel that tracks active synergies — burn storms, frost locks, lightning chains, companion engines, and more. Players who grab five unrelated “strong” pieces stall in chapter four; players who commit to one to three combo families ride Hard Mode farther with commons.
This guide explains how to read combos, how tablets amplify them, and how to practice without memorizing every card name on day one.
How Combo Effects work
- Pick up artifacts with related tags (element, on-hit, companion, Miracle, etc.).
- Place them so Tablet Combinations raise the levels that feed those tags.
- Open or watch the Combo Effect panel — it is evidence, not flavor text.
- Drop pieces that never appear on the panel even after Q/E rotation from Controls.
If the panel does not advance after three rooms of loot, your build is lying to you.
Commit to one–three combos
| Commitment | Result |
|---|---|
| 1 primary combo | Clearest scaling, easiest tablet plan |
| 2 combos | Strong when they share tablets |
| 3 combos | Only with Side Bag swaps — see Side Bag |
| 5+ random tags | Silent DPS failure |
Example combo families (theme-level)
Exact card names rotate with patches (1.0.21, 1.0.22). Think in families:
Fire / Burn — stack burn application and burn damage amplifiers; pair with Staff or Crossbow from Weapon Types. Visual reference culture often calls these “circus” or burn screens — see also fire-leaning showcase videos linked from Tablet Combinations.
Frost / Control — freeze uptime and attack-speed debuffs; excellent for boss telegraphs in Chapter 6.
Storm / Lightning — multi-target jumps and cloud chips; strong room clear before boss swaps.
Companion / Summon — ballista and ally pieces that soak aggro for co-op or solo breathing room — see Companion Build.
Miracle engine — cooldown and cast synergies for Staff players using Miracles & Potions.
Grid rules that protect combos
- Preview with Q/E before every placement.
- Hold empty cells for the tablet that completes the panel.
- Use Side Bag to park off-combo loot instead of breaking rails.
- Imprint key tablets via Talents once unlocked so awkward shapes stop fighting your combo.
Weapon branch pairing
Combos love matching branches:
- Sword & Shield — parry-trigger and sustain combos while learning.
- Greatsword — on-kill and stagger burst combos.
- Dagger / Katana — on-hit rails.
- Crossbow — range crit and trap combos.
- Staff — Miracle and elemental engines.
Cross-check the Tier List only after your combo panel lights up consistently.
Hard Mode combo discipline
Elemental modifiers punish off-element greed. Keep a Side Bag elemental answer that still feeds your primary combo, or accept a temporary secondary combo for one chapter. Rainbow boards die to Hard Mode healing penalties and elite affixes.
Practice plan
- Pick one family for an entire normal campaign.
- Refuse loot that never touches the combo panel.
- Screenshot a successful panel before Chapter 6.
- Repeat in Hard Mode with the same family before inventing a new one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What are Combo Effects in Sephiria?
Panel-tracked synergies fed by related artifacts and tablets. They show whether your grid is a focused build or scattered loot.
How many combos should I run?
One primary combo is best for learning. Two works when tablets overlap. Three needs Side Bag discipline.
Why is my combo panel not growing?
Tags may not match, tablets may be mis-rotated, or you are holding off-combo legendaries. Preview with Q/E and drop dead weight.
Do combos matter in co-op?
Yes. Coordinated combo roles beat four solo rainbow boards, especially under Hard Mode modifiers.
