Sephiria Patch 1.0.29 Hotfix
Chapter 6 multiplayer freeze fixed — bundled with 1.0.28 as one cumulative client.
Why 1.0.29 exists
Patch 1.0.29 shipped on 2026-08-14 as a targeted multiplayer fix for Sephiria (app 2436940) on Steam. TEAM HORAY added the 1.0.29 fix to the existing 1.0.28 hotfix announcement — the installed Steam build identifies as build 24734903. Install the newest client to get both fixes cumulatively.
This is not a content expansion. Sephiria stays six chapters, Steam Windows and macOS, online co-op up to four, and no host migration.
The Chapter 6 multiplayer freeze
The core fix addresses a bug where progress could occasionally freeze after a game over in Chapter 6 multiplayer environments. If a player died during the finale and the session was waiting for a respawn or vote to continue, the lobby could stall — forcing a host migration that does not exist, or leaving all four players stuck on a black screen.
This was a timing and state-sync edge case, not a guaranteed repro. Players who completed Chapter 6 multiplayer runs without dying, or who ran with two players instead of four, were less likely to hit it. However, the freeze was severe enough to warrant a hotfix between the earlier 1.0.26/1.0.27 feature pass and the upcoming 1.0.30.
Relation to 1.0.28
1.0.29 does not replace 1.0.28 — it adds a fifth fix on top of the four already in that patch:
| Fix | 1.0.28 | 1.0.29 |
|---|---|---|
| Chapter 4 story-object UI | ✓ | ✓ |
| Weapon tooltip keyword bleed | ✓ | ✓ |
| Hard Mode difficulty on gamepad | ✓ | ✓ |
| Time-change function reset | ✓ | ✓ |
| Chapter 6 multiplayer freeze | — | ✓ |
Install the newest Steam client to receive all five fixes.
